Sermon Outline

I.  We are justified because no one can revoke the covenant. (vs.15)

A.  God ratified the covenant.

B.  Man is unable to modify the covenant of God.

II.  We are justified because the seed promised in the covenant has come. (vs.16)

A.  The promise was to Abraham and His “seed”.

B.  The promise was fulfilled by the coming of Christ.

III. We are justified because the law cannot nullify the covenant. (vs.17-18)

A.  Sinai, occurring after the Abrahamic covenant, cannot nullify the promise of justification by faith.

B.  Those who attempt justification by the law seek to nullify the promise of justification by faith.

C.  God was gracious to Abraham by means of the promise.
