What we believe about Jesus

Covenant Presbyterian Church worships and serves our Lord Jesus Christ. The life of Jesus is accurately and historically recorded for us in the four gospels. Jesus was not a mere historical personality, but His life and death affected a new spiritual reality prophesied in the Old Testament. By His life of absolute obedience, He demonstrated that He was a perfect, spotless sacrifice. In His death, by crucifixion upon the cross under the condemnation of a Roman tribunal, Jesus offered to the Father the sacrifice necessary to satisfy God’s just wrath against our sin. After Jesus’ real and physical death, the Father supernaturally raised Him from the dead. Jesus ascended into heaven and sits in rule at the right hand of the Father.
